SUCCESS ON A PLATE IN KIRKCALDY!
The 2019 Adam Smith Food & Drink Fair has been hailed a “huge success” after more than 3,000 foodies visited the event on the weekend of Kirkcaldy’s Festival of Ideas (Saturday 16th March).
The free Fair – that saw the return of BBC 2016 MasterChef The Professionals Champion, Gary Maclean, leading the day’s activities – included a whole host of stalls featuring fantastic producers, suppliers, restaurants and foodie entrepreneurs – all sharing their gastronomic and culinary skills. It also saw booked-out kids’ workshops throughout the day making healthy pizzas and decorating cupcakes … all staged away from the worst of the weather in the Atrium at Fife College’s St. Brycedale Campus.
The demos included Gary Maclean, Scotland???s National Chef, as well as Chef Tom Pratt from The Waterfront Restaurant in Kirkcaldy – and two of the College’s rising stars, Eilidh Smith and Terri Scott. All the demos were very well attended.
Kirkcaldy4All’s manager, Bill Harvey was “delighted” with the response, saying: “Visitors had ample opportunity to sample, taste and buy produce from more than twenty-five local food and drink producers – and it was great to see some of our businesses taking part, including two of our vegan and vegetarian restaurants and caf??s ??? The Bakers Field Cafe and VeganShi.”
Bill adds: ???The Adam Smith Food and Drink Fair was just one in a great programme of events delivered as part of the Adam Smith Festival of Ideas, celebrating Kirkcaldy’s globally-renowned 18th Century economist and philosopher. Our attention now turns to the rest of the year’s calendar – and we’re very excited to be bringing the Beach Highland Games back to the town’s Waterfront on Saturday 8th June.”
Thank you very much!
We’d like to say a very big thank you to all our exhibitors and stall holders (detailed below) – but the biggest thank you goes to you – to those who supported the event by sharing our messaging, those who visited and all who helped to make this year’s Fair such a great success for everyone involved.
